Organizational management

Do you run an ultimate non-profit? A local league? An annual tournament? A semi-pro team?
Are you starting a new club team? A summer camp?

I have the unique experience in both ultimate frisbee and professional organizational management to help your team off the field elevate the one on it.

  • Build your leadership team.

What’s the right way to get people in your organization involved in ways that will be productive and cultivate buy-in?

You wouldn’t put a D-line specialist in as center O-line handler. Putting people into positions to succeed is just as critical behind the scenes as it is on the field.

  • Run efficient day-to-day operations.

It sounds basic. But setting things up to hum along smoothly is a big part of being able to troubleshoot when things go wrong, and to learn to make things even more efficient the next go-around.

  • Plan for the future.

Strategic planning is the lifeblood of your organization. Charting a course for what the organization will look like over the next year, and over the next three years, will inform decisions you make in every corner of your operation today.

Your team can work to strengthen what you have, guard against challenges, and expand into new opportunities. Doing so requires intentional, focused planning.

  • Strengthen your non-profit.

Keeping a non-profit structured and operating is a challenge. Transitioning your existing organization into a non-profit for the first time can prove to be even harder. Understanding the basics of non-profit board governance can be the boost your organization needs.

  • Get your team out there.

As a club, college or youth team, oftentimes marketing falls by the wayside. But there are some simple things you can do to showcase your team and players. A promise of exposure can be a carrot for potential recruits. And your current stars will love being able to have content to share with their friends and family that aren’t as familiar with the sport.

  • What's next?

I worked for years as a chief of staff at both a non-profit and a startup. I spent time as vice chair of a non-profit ultimate frisbee organization’s board of directors. I have also headed up the strategic planning process for nearly a half dozen organizations as an independent consultant.

My experience professionally and in the sport of ultimate frisbee is an asset to your organization. Together, we can make it the best version of itself.
